Breast reduction surgery, also known as reduction mammaplasty, is a surgical procedure that can provide relief from these symptoms. During breast reduction surgery, which is performed under general anesthesia, fat and glandular tissue are removed, and skin is tightened, producing smaller, lighter breasts that are in a healthier proportion to the rest of the body.
