SKIN ONLY
When a full neck lift is not yet called for, cervicoplasty can treat the signs of aging to produce a tighter, more toned neck. Cervicoplasty is a surgical procedure that removes only excess skin on the neck, leaving the muscles unaffected. During this procedure, incisions are made under the chin and behind the ears through which excess skin is lifted and secured in place with permanent sutures.
SKIN & FAT
A neck lift often involves a combination of different surgical techniques to provide patients with the most effective results for their individual needs. Patients with excessive skin and fat in the neck have the option of combining cervicoplasty combined with liposuction to achieve their desired results. During this combined procedure, excess fat is gently suctioned from the neck through a thin tube called a cannula, which is inserted into an incision under the chin, then the excess skin is removed through the cervicoplasty procedure.
PLATYSMAPLASTY
Platysmaplasty is a procedure that can reduce or eliminate the appearance of banding on the neck by removing, re-positioning or tightening the muscles within the neck. This is performed by making an incision under the chin, behind the ears or in both locations. A small instrument is inserted through the incision, and used to make the necessary adjustments to neck muscles. Platysmaplasty can yield dramatic, long-lasting results.
